SLD Read

  • Specialized one-to-one instruction in reading, writing, and spelling using the Orton-Gillingham program.
  • Students meet weekly with a SLD tutor throughout the year
  • Tier 3 Intervention

GRPS Title 1

  • Federally funded tutoring services for IHM students that live in the Grand Rapids Public Schools district and are identified as needing academic support
  • Students meet with a Title 1 teacher for support in reading and/or math
  • May be small group or individual

All Belong Center for Inclusive Education

  • A partnership that supports us in building a Christ-centered inclusive social and academic environment for students of all abilities
  • Regular meetings with teacher consultants
  • Access to testing and assessments for students with identified needs
  • Resources for parents, general education teachers, and special education teachers
  • Staff trainings and professional development throughout the year
  • Response to Intervention (RTI) approach to academic support

Student Support and Academic Interventionist

  • Supports students in all grade levels
  • Works with students in the classroom as much as possible to keep students with peers
  • Small group and individual reading and math intervention
  • Creates Personalized Learning Plans (PLPs) for students in need of accomodations
  • Supports general education classroom teachers
