Based on ROOTED: Theology of the Body K-12 Curriculum

The Theology of the Body (TOB) teachings were presented to the world during Saint Pope John Paul’s Wednesday audiences over five years (1979-1984). TOB is the lens in which we as Catholics are called to view the world and one another. Immaculate Heart of Mary became a Theology of the Body Campus in 2018 when we began integrating this teaching at all grade levels.

In conjunction with the philosophy of the Sophia Institute Press, Immaculate Heart of Mary School uses the Rooted: Theology of the Body Curriculum, which is founded on the fact that your child is a gift from the Lord. This means that your child begins his or her life and lives every moment in relationship with the love of God. This curriculum has parents in mind as the first educators of their children.

Theology of the Body is a way of presenting the depth of God’s love when He created man and woman. The teachings show the dignity of the human person and how human love is meant to be a reflection of God’s love.

The Gospel lives always in conversation with culture, for the Eternal Word never ceases to be present to the Church and to humanity. If the Church holds back from culture, the Gospel itself falls silent.
