Mrs. Anne Brown has been in the field of education for 36 years. She just retired from Kentwood Public Schools. She spent half of that time in elementary being a reading specialist and teaching 1st, 2nd, and 5th grade. She spent the last 15 years in middle school teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Language Arts. Reading and writing will always be her true love. She also spent a few years teaching a remedial reading class at Grand Rapids Community College. But at the very beginning of her career, she spent four years teaching 5th grade right here at Immaculate Heart of Mary. Being back is a full circle moment for her. She and her husband have been members of the IHM parish since they were married in 1992. Their three children, Ryan, Kevin, and Eliza are all proud graduates of IHM and Catholic Central.

In her free time, Mrs. Brown loves to read! She is learning the game of golf and she just bought a new ebike she is having fun taking on the bike trails. But her favorite thing would have to be spending time with her new granddaughter, Meredith.
